Bangla QR: one QR code, every bank and MFS.

Bangla QR is Bangladesh Bank's interoperable QR standard. One sticker at your counter lets customers pay from any participating bank app or mobile financial service — Bkash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay, and every scheduled bank.

What is Bangla QR?

Bangla QR is the national interoperable QR payment standard operated by Bangladesh Bank, built on the EMVCo QR specification. Instead of printing a separate QR sticker for each wallet, merchants display a single Bangla QR. Customers open any participating app, scan, confirm, and the merchant is credited to their linked bank or MFS account.

Why it matters for BD merchants

  • One QR instead of a wall of Bkash / Nagad / Rocket stickers — less counter clutter, faster checkout.
  • Lower per-transaction cost than card acquiring for small-ticket retail.
  • Settlement lands directly in your bank account, not in a wallet you have to cash-out.
  • Works for micro-merchants without POS hardware — a printed sticker is enough.

How to start accepting Bangla QR

  1. Open a business current account at any scheduled bank offering Bangla QR (most now do).
  2. Submit trade licence, TIN, NID, and business address — the same KYC pack merchant.bd already collects.
  3. The bank issues your Bangla QR sticker (physical + digital). Display it at the counter.
  4. Reconcile daily settlements against sales — this is where merchant.bd saves 6–10 hours a week.

Reconciliation is the real work

Accepting Bangla QR is the easy step. The pain begins the next morning: matching each settlement line on your bank statement to the sale, refund, or void it corresponds to. merchant.bd ingests your bank statement plus your PSP feeds (SSLCommerz, ShurjoPay, Bkash, Nagad) and produces one reconciled ledger — with an append-only audit trail your auditor and NBR will accept.
